Almost Famous Enough is a series of conversations centered around the music industry, pulling back the veil on what it really means to “make it”. Our podcast features guests who know the grind, who have lived the dream, or at the very least, chased the dream. Through these conversational biographies, truth and vulnerability provide more than a topical roadmap or compile some career advice; they can appeal to the dreamer in us all, with stories that can teach us, inspire us, and even reconcile us, and make us feel like we made a new friend along the way.
Glen Erickson loves music and deep conversation, among other things.
While chasing his own dream of being a rockstar, primarily with Canadian alt-country band The Wheat Pool (2005-2012), he found his way into roles as an independent record label owner (Shameless Records), artist manager, publicist, and promoter. He served as Board Chair for his provincial music association (Alberta Music) helping bring artist development and export programs to the membership, while regularly serving on other arts boards and volunteering as jury member to multiple granting, award, and festival organizations in Canada.
Glen’s passion for the business and the art of music, fused with his love of people and authentic conversation, makes this podcast an outlet he couldn’t refuse. His love for doing anything possible with his daughter, Alexi, makes their “Post-Fame” segment a dream.
Alexi Erickson is a second year university student and second child of host Glen Erickson. She loves music, and exercises an un-ending appetite and curiosity for discovering new artists and sharing songs.
She joins her dad on the “Post-Fame” segment of each episode, sharing her highlights, briefly getting into the details, and making sure to share her latest faves and finds.
In each episode, Alexi Erickson joins her dad, host Glen Erickson, to talk about the guests and the conversations from her perspective.
Then they will probably swap their current favorite songs and see if they can discover an artist first.
